I recently stumbled across the following research paper.

Next paper might be on the impact of AI followers...

Poland warns Russia it could shoot down any Russian airplanes over Polish airspace, during UN meeting:

Quote: "Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has ordered hundreds of the U.S. military’s generals and admirals to gather on short notice — and without a stated reason — at a Marine Corps base in Virginia next week, sowing confusion and alarm after the Trump administration’s firing of numerous senior leaders this year."

Last time pizza orders sky rockets in DC they bombed Iran. Now it appears they're going to plan some stuff, any expectation for a military action by the US?

Nah. It's a defensive move. They plan to show the USA are so stupid that nobody would want to rule them, to discourage Russia, the China or whoever from invading them. It has the disadvantage that it may result in the military not trusting the politicians, but that's already so, so little to lose there...
But if showing stupidity was a valid defensive strategy the world political leaders would be great at defending their countries...
Most likely foreign intelligence operatives will take advantage to implement disruptive attacks, like cutting their wifi or cracking into their coffee machines to alter brewing or some such, and then posting in TikTok satellite recorded videos of the desperate generals cursing to heavens.
But it's next week. Trump has time to change his orders three times until then...

Edit: so much for the light-hearted "news". This keeps happening:

EA will be fully controlled by a small group of investors who will have far fewer rules to follow and this additional freedom is expected to equate to increased profits. They can for instance sack tons of developers and it won't immediately affect the value of the company like if it were traded on a stock exchange. Actually I don't even think they have to report layoffs. They can operate as a black box. No quarterly reports necessary. No external audit. Individuals cannot invest - big boys only. One of the owners will be the Saudi wealth fund which has a large stake in Nintendo. They said one of the benefits of going private could be "better games".

The AI story generator that Peony and I have been using seems to have a preference for dramatic stories, so we've been seeing if we can guide it to create a quiet, peaceful story instead. So far we've had to fend off events like an accusation of theft, a burglary, a road widening scheme, and a death.

My old HP combo device: without ink you can't even use the scanner. Urgh printers. Got a neat Canon from work for free, printed nicely for half a year and now the print head is reportedly defective. That's after buying a bunch of cartridges for it of course. I'd still like to have a plotter, hm.
